One part of the Julie Pace interview for AP with Donald Trump seemed especially troubling. Did he actually compare his ratings with coverage of 9/11?
AP: And that’s one of the difficulties I think presidents have had is that you can have these personal relationships with people from the other party, but then it’s hard to actually change how people vote or change how people —
TRUMP: No I have, it’s interesting, I have, seem to get very high ratings. I definitely. You know Chris Wallace had 9.2 million people, it’s the highest in the history of the show. I have all the ratings for all those morning shows. When I go, they go double, triple. Chris Wallace, look back during the Army-Navy football game, I did his show that morning.
AP: I remember, right.
TRUMP: It had 9.2 million people. It’s the highest they’ve ever had. On any, on air, (CBS “Face the Nation” host John) Dickerson had 5.2 million people. It’s the highest for “Face the Nation” or as I call it, “Deface the Nation.” It’s the highest for “Deface the Nation” since the World Trade Center. Since the World Trade Center came down. It’s a tremendous advantage. – AP Interviewwith Julie Pace
Happy Earth Day science fans. I don’t plan to march for science today but I support those that will. Sad that the administration seems to have so much enmity to science and embraces the world of “alternative facts”. It was not always that way.
My sister created some signs for the March on Science. She is NOT a “paid protester”.
By Fareed Zakaria Thursday, Feb. 16, 2017 Let’s say you are a Trump voter, the kind we often hear about — an honest, hard-working American who put up with Donald Trump’s unusual behavior because you wanted a president who would stop playing Washington’s political games, bring a businessman’s obsession with action and results, and focus on the […]
I don’t like to hear the president saying “I like to suprise you”. Since his coronation I have found myself in constant state of anxiety wondering what wacky thing he might do next. My anxiety is not unfounded. This was reflected in a recent SNL skit shown on Feb 11, 2017.
“Mr. President, you’re doing too much,” she explained, running out patience. “I want one day without a CNN alert that scares the hell out of me, all right? I just want to relax and watch the Grammys. And no one has ever said that.” – Cecily Stong on SNL
Allen Dulles, the fifth and longest-serving Director of Central Intelligence, took a personal interest in the construction of the Original Headquarters Building (OHB). He was the son of a Presbyterian minister and insisted that a Biblical quotation be fixed in stone in the OHB Lobby. The verse – “And Ye Shall Know the Truth and the Truth Shall Make You Free” – John 8:32 – now stands as the Agency motto. At the dedication ceremony for OHB, Dulles included this quotation in his speech. – Source CIA website
There are 117 stars carved on the wall behind President Trump, each representing an intelligence officer that had been killed in service. There are no names due to the secrecy of their work.
President Trump stood in front of that wall and delivered some remarks. He did not pay homage to the fallen, he did not explain the importance of their mission. He complained about the press .
“As you know, I have a running war with the media. They are among the most dishonest human beings on Earth,” – President Donald J Trump
I’ve been chided for not “getting over it” when he was elected. I was even accused of not being patriotic for blindly pledging allegiance to our new president. However he works for the American people and lives in our house. He needs to act with dignity and class and so far he is showing neither.
Donald Trump explained via the 1990s TV show Dinosaurs.
Hopefully the real Trump Reign will end differently than the final episode of the series:
The series finale of Dinosaurs, titled “Changing Nature”, depicts the irresponsible actions of the dinosaurs toward their environment, and the ensuing Ice Age which leads to their demise. In the episode, a swarm of Bunch Beetles are unable to show up and devour a form of creeper vine. Charlene discovers that WESAYSO has constructed a wax fruit factory called FruitCo on the swampland that serves as the Bunch Beetles’ breeding grounds, causing the extinction of the species (save for one male named Stan). Fearing a public relations fiasco more than any environmental threat, WESAYSO quickly puts Earl in charge of an attempt to destroy the vines, which have grown out of control without the beetles to keep them in check. Earl proposes spraying the planet with defoliant, which causes the destruction of the vines, but also kills off all plant life on the planet. B.P. Richfield assumes that the creation of clouds will bring rain, allowing the plants to grow back, and so decides to create clouds by dropping bombs in the planet’s volcanoes to cause eruptions and cloud cover. The dark clouds instead cause global cooling, in the form of a gigantic cloud-cover simulating the effects of what the viewer would recognize as nuclear winter that scientists estimate would take “tens of thousands of years” to dissipate. B.P. Richfield dismisses this as a “4th quarter problem” and states that WESAYSO is currently making record-breaking profits from the cold weather selling blankets, heaters, and hot cocoa mix as the result of the “cold snap.” Later, Earl apologizes to his family and Stan for his actions that led to the end of the world. Baby is assured that no matter what happens, they will always be a family. At DNN, Howard Handupme concludes his final broadcast.
