“They want you to give up your safety,” Executive Councilor David Wheeler said. “We need to live next to these things. How about our air quality and water quality? And there’s no benefit for Granite Staters.”
Sister Lorraine Trottier and four other nuns staff a retreat house in New Ipswich. She said that if the pipeline goes through, they will lose part of their property. She said she’s afraid they will have to reduce their ministry or close the house altogether.
“After 25 years, we certainly have helped hundreds of people, and we would hate to see that die,” Trottier said.
