This is my final notice… if only it was true

Damn phone robo-call scum that call me every freaking day. Rachel, Heather and all the other recordings.

Voicemail from (406) 878-2601

“This is your final notice as it relates to the financial stimulus so press one now to take advantage of this today.”

We have the NSA that can monitor EVERY phone call made by American Citizens and apparently most of Europe, but they can’t stop this harassment. They have a facility in Utah that can store an Exabyte of data. I’m sure in that database  Rachel and her ilk reside. Catch them and throw them in a cell. Give us their phone number so we can call them at dinnertime.

I’ve done it all, pressed 9 and talked to someone in some boiler room in some backwater hell-hole in some country. All I ask is stop calling! Recorded them, swore at them, blew the air horn… did it all.

Don’t bother trying to get removed, all that does is show that your phone number is active.

Everyone I know gets these calls. Here is an idea, charge everyone an extra penny to make a call. I’ll pay that willingly, but I bet that hurts those who are calling you right now. Is that your phone ringing?

Most calls are spoofed, this one is not in service.

I’ve filed a complaint with the FCC today we’ll see what happens.

This is your FINAL offer, you can lower your interest charges

Free Edward Snowden Petition? Excuse me?

It’s true, 107,207 folks have petitioned the Obama Adminstration to:

Pardon Edward Snowden

This is petition text:

“Edward Snowden is a national hero and should be immediately issued a a full, free, and absolute pardon for any crimes he has committed or may have committed related to blowing the whistle on secret NSA surveillance programs.”

How embarrassing for the petition signers. They  side with a guy who ran away first to China (a place that doesn’t spy on it’s citizens) then ran away to Russia (another place that doesn’t spy on it’s citizens). I suppose he will eventually show up in North Korea like Dennis Rodman.
Am I the only one that sees the irony?

Bumblehive – More than George Orwell could have every imagined

“Defending our Nation. Securing The Citizens”
The Good Old Days
The NSA is constructing a massive data center in Utah code-named Bumblehive. The amount of computing power and storage of this facility is staggering. When I started working in the computer industry in the early 1970s disk capacity was measured in kilobytes. We had magnetic core memory boards which looked like fine tapestry. As I remember they were capable of holding a few thousand bits of data.
It was long before Kilobytes became Megabytes, Megabytes became Terabytes, Terabytes became Gigabytes, Gigabytes became Terabytes. My current PC has 1.35 Terabyte of storage with 612 Gigabyte of free space. It holds thousands of photos, programs, documents and  music files.
Technology advanced,  Terabytes became Petabytes, Petabytes became Exabytes. This data center will have storage measured in Zettabytes. That is a decimal number 10 to the 24th power. Of course tied to this storage will be a massive super computer. I can only imagine it becoming self aware at some point in my lifetime, just like HAL or Colossus: The Forbin Project.
I’m okay with this to some degree. After all I’m publishing this on Google’s Blogger platform. Google already knows everything about me and has my photos, home address and credit card information. I like Google, they promised to do no evil. I hope my government will do the same.
