Dropping Some Truth

LaMonte M. Fowler

rant-warningI feel the need to drop a little truth on y’all. So buckle up…I’m about to be politically incorrect.

We don’t need to take America back. No one stole it. It’s right here…you’re sitting in it. Chillax.

Mexico isn’t going to pay for the wall and we’re not going to deport millions of people and break up families. If you think either one is a good idea, you’re not smart and probably not a person I want to hang out with.

We don’t live in a democracy. Technically we are a Federal Republic. But in reality we are ruled by an oligarchy. If you don’t know what that is, look it up. Reading will do you good. You probably need to do more of it.

FoxNews, CNN, and MSNBC have an agenda and are not “fair and balanced” or in any way unbiased. I’ll reiterate…read more. Read newspapers (even online…

Trump Rally

I attended my first (and last) Donald J Trump Rally at Hampshire, Hills in Milford, NH. I had low expectations of his oratory skills but I found I needed to lower them a bit more. Donald delivered his usual diatribe of insults, boasts and complaints about how he was treated by the press, in spite of their complicity in boosting his popularity. He discussed how well he placed in Iowa in spite of what the pundits had predicted while mentioned the fact that Senator Cruz was born in Canada.

I knew it was going to be an interesting evening when a public address message was made that it was a private affair paid for by Donald Trump and for people not to physically attack protesters. Police would remove any unruly attendees. If there were any outburst from protesters the crowd was encouraged to chant TRUMP, TRUMP, TRUMP.

Gustau Alegret is a correspondent for NTN24 (Nuestra Tele Noticias). I was speaking with him when he was approached by a Trump Rally staff member and asked to leave the premises. Apparently they felt he was too aggressive in his insistence on entering the main hall, however I felt his demeanor was quite reserved. After a few minutes he was escorted out by two law enforcement agents. It is apparent to me that it is politically advantageous to have a private versus a public event.

Trump was introduced by Scott Brown which was a bit of a surprise since I thought he was a bit more the traditional politician. Brown discussed the various failings of the Obama adminstration and invoked the spirit of Ronald Reagan in spite of the fact that the crowd had many young people who probably weren’t even alive when Reagan was President.

The crowd was rather subdued during the rally which was understandable because it was mostly Trump talking about Trump. They did cheer when he said he was going to kick the <expletive> out of Isis. They must be quaking in their boots.

Waiting in the cold to attend the rally.

Trump complains that the crowd size is never shown by the media. This is the crowd. It was hot and steamy inside, reminded me of a locker room.

Trump aide asks reporter Gustau Alegret to leave building. Gustau was not causing any trouble, he just wanted to get inside the main hall. Police escorted Mr. Alegret from the premises.

Mr Alegret tried to make his case for not being ejected. I wondered if I was next since I was taking photos.
